Controllers comments (Tim Pugh
– GO) Once again, SN has staged a successful event. On
behalf of all of the competitors, I wish to thank them for their time and
efforts. Congratulations go to Southdowns and SLOW
for their qualification for the CompassSport Cup
Final in October. From comments at the finish from young and old,
everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, the different car park and start/finish
locations giving a new perspective to an old favourite. This seemed to
freshen up a well-used area and it took many of you to parts not normally
visited. Wisley is well known for fast running and high visibility at this time of
the year. Indeed, several of you went much faster than I thought possible.
However, it is not easy for the planner with the need to use the bridges and
also to avoid several out of bounds areas. With this in mind, I believe that
Steve Keyes planned some excellent courses making maximum use of the terrain,
thank you Steve for all of your efforts on both the courses and the updated
map. Paul Keeble had everything
well organised and kept smiling throughout the last few weeks and at the
event. Nothing seemed too much for Paul, our thanks are due to him, his team
leaders and all helpers. I must add my own thanks to Angela Darley (GO) for helping to check controls on the day. Just a week after controlling BOC, Steve McKinley
was running the computer side and producing updated CompassSport
Cup results throughout the day. Thank you Steve for your major contribution
to this event in the last week and to the overall sport in the last months,
your efforts have been beyond the normal call. Thank you SN, it was pleasure to be involved with
you all again. On behalf of everyone, I wish the very best of luck to SO
& SLOW in the Final - it is time that the Cup was brought to the South
East. |
