Directions / Parking

Use the main entrance to Alice Holt, off the A325 and Dockenfield Street. We will be using the main Forestry Commission car park, which has a ticket barrier and charges for car parking: £1.80 for 1 hour, £3 for 2 hours, £4.50 for 3 hours.

Course Information

Course 1 (7.2km): M20-40; M45-50

Course 2 (4.8km): M18; M55-60; W18; W20-40; W45-50

Course 3 (3.4km): M16; M65-75; M80+; W16; W55-60; W65-75; W80+

Course 4 (2.1km): Beginners

Entry Details

Entry on the day only. But please email events@southernnavigators.com to secure a map indicating which course you want to run.

Registration & Start Times

Registration opens 4:30 in the classroom.

Starts 5:00 - 6:00 pm

Start is 300m and Finish is 500m from registration. The route will be marked with tapes and glow-sticks.

Terrain Description

Network of forest roads and smaller tracks. Mixed runnability. Lots of streams and ditches. Some paths are muddy, but the area is mostly dry.

Facilities

Hot drinks will be available at registration in the classroom

If you run in the event in the morning and are a South East member you will not be eligible for a medal in the regional championships. However, you are still very welcome to come and have a run.

Safety

All competitors M/W14 and below must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Whistles strongly advised.

Courses close 7:30pm.

Important Event Information

Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser. Competitors are responsible for their own personal safety and for assessing their own abilities to complete the course. Neither Southern Navigators, the landowner or British Orienteering can be held liable for any accident or other incident arising while undertaking the event. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event - including clothing appropriate for the conditions, and if required, a means of summoning assistance (e.g. phone or whistle).
After forest orienteering, please check thoroughly for ticks and remove immediately if you find them. Lyme Disease is on the increase in the South East!

Insurance: All participants are covered by the British Orienteering third-party liability insurance policy. (NB: This is not a personal injury policy).

Privacy: If you enter an event or activity for which we publish results your name will appear in the results section of this website. In addition we may seek to have the results published elsewhere, e.g. by local newspapers. Read our data protection page to see how we look after your personal data.
