Membership renewal for 2021 - reminder

Last edited: Fri 1 Jan 2021

British Orienteering (BO) issued membership renewal notices by email to all existing members in early November. Those who have already renewed should have received their 2021 BO 'membership cards' by email during December. If you did not renew by 31 December then your membership of both BO and SN has now lapsed.

The membership year runs from 1 January to 31 December so please renew promptly to ensure your membership remains current for events from January 2021 onwards. You will need to be a current SN member in order to be eligible to compete and to get priority for any SN events with entry limits.

If you already pay by direct debit your membership will have been renewed automatically with money being collected during December. Otherwise please pay British Orienteering as instructed and SN will receive its share of the renewal fee directly from them.

Please also take the opportunity to review your personal details and contact information. We rely on a download of BO membership data for our club membership records, and your registered SI/Emit card numbers are also used by some on-line entry systems.

Local members will be contacted separately by the Membership Secretary regarding their renewals.

We understand that some people may be delaying their renewal while waiting to find out what 2021 holds regarding the resumption of normal orienteering activity. BO have not announced any extensions to 2020 membership, and we expect lapsed members to be removed from their database (and consequently from ours too) early in 2021, meaning that you would then have to 'rejoin' rather than 'renew'.

We hope to restore the usual full range of club activities and competitions for the benefit of our members as soon as the relaxation of Covid restrictions allows us to.
