after victory at SOC Roundhill event

Congratulations to the team that delivered a resounding win in the regional qualifying event in the New Forest on 17th March. We can now put the date for the final in our calendars - Sunday 20th October at Pippingford Park in Ashdown Forest.

The full results can be found via the SOC web site www.socweb.org, including details of which 25 runners counted towards the SN team's score. Others did the equally important job of denying higher scores to the opposition's runners, so thank you to everyone who took part.

Despite the absence of several of our more experienced competitors, the team had a good balance across the various age classes, and scored points on most courses. Our total team score of 2435 is one of the highest we have ever achieved under the current competition format, with all of our scoring runners contributing 94 points or better towards that total.

The final is local this year (certainly day-trip distance) so I hope we can look forward to taking a large and strong team, and maybe emulate the top three finish we achieved when we organised the final at Long Valley in 2014.
