Pre Event Info

SN Saturday Series Series Info

These events are ideally suited to beginners, juniors and family groups who want to try orienteering or move up from school to forest orienteering.

Pre-enter as in the entry details section below. If you don't have a "dibber" leave that part of the entry details blank - you will be allocated one to pick up at the event.

If you are new to this sport, please select the Yellow or Orange course. This may seem short but it's the best way to learn. Most families start with a “Yellow” level course which is about 2.5km long and will take around 30-45 minutes. There may not be a legend (key) on the map. A link to the British Orienteering legend can be found at the bottom of the FAQ page: https://www.southernnavigators...

At the event, club members (wearing yellow high visibility jackets) are there to help and advise.

You don’t need any special equipment - Clothing ? Come dressed to run or walk

You can start your course anytime from 10.00 until 11.30 as long as you are finished before courses close at 12.30 (when controls are collected in). When you finish you must come back to the registration area to “download” your times from your dibber and get your results. Downloading provides a safety check confirming that all participants have returned, so it is important that you visit the “download” before you leave the event.

Facilities

There are not normally toilets but please check specific event details.
