Training open to all club members. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult when urban based.
Halfpenny Lane car park
Cross-country race.
Traditional course, i.e. the one we have used periodically for around 40 years, so those who have run it before can compare their time with previous years.
Choice of 1 or 2 laps, each of around 2.5-3.0 km. Winning time for 2 laps usually around 25 minutes.
Free to club members; During Covid-19 restrictions Summer training is only available to members of SN
Arrive by 18:45, to be ready for 19:00 mass start
Wooded paths/tracks. Course marked with flour. Going: good, soft in places. (A few bricks/stones, so spikes not recommended). Intruding brambles/nettles removed, so shorts are okay. Three fallen trees have created low steeplechase fences!

Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser. Competitors are responsible for their own personal safety and for assessing their own abilities to complete the course. Neither Southern Navigators, the landowner or British Orienteering can be held liable for any accident or other incident arising while undertaking the event. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event - including clothing appropriate for the conditions, and if required, a means of summoning assistance (e.g. phone or whistle).
After forest orienteering, please check thoroughly for ticks and remove immediately if you find them. Lyme Disease is on the increase in the South East!
Covid-19: Before attending any orienteering activity, all orienteers (including officials, volunteers and coaches) should self-assess for symptoms of COVID-19. If you, or anyone you live with, have one or more of these symptoms you should not attend any sporting activity, even if your symptoms are mild.
Insurance: All participants are covered by the British Orienteering third-party liability insurance policy. (NB: This is not a personal injury policy).
