SN Qualify for the Yvette Baker Trophy Final

Last edited: Sun 8 Mar 2020

Congratulations to the 36 juniors who raced to qualify for the Yvette Baker Trophy Final.

The team finished second, just four points behind Southdowns Orienteers, at Warlies Park, near Epping Forest.

As it was the first time this area has been used for orienteering, there wasn't much that could be done to prepare, but the team raced around the fast parkland.

Notable results for the team include:

  • Aimee D. - 3rd Green Girls
  • Jocie H. - 1st Light Green Girls
  • Charlotte S. - 1st Orange Girls
  • Tom D. - 4th Orange Boys
  • Jake H. - 2nd Yellow Boys
  • Daniel O. - 3rd Yellow Boys
  • Charlotte L. - 2nd Yellow Girls
  • Livia D. - 3rd Yellow Girls

Full results can be found on the CHIG website.

The Yvette Baker Trophy is an annual inter-club competition for juniors, named after Britain's first World Orienteering Champion, and consists of regional rounds and a final.

The final will be held by Bristol Orienteering Klub on 5 July, at Westonbirt Arboretum. Juniors - please mark in your diaries!
