Come and explore this small woodland, with a brand new map!

Mostly Beech & Oak, with some lovely runnable areas, complex path network & Rhododendron tunnels - ideal for training and juniors.

Two courses available, roughly 2km each. Choose one or run them back-to-back.

Training open to all club members. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult when urban based.

We should have a good turnout, so the car park may fill up. Please share lifts if you can and park considerately in nearby streets if needed.

Course Information

Two courses available using small training kites (no timing), roughly 2km each:

  • Long Legs
  • Short Legs

Take your choice, or run them both back-to-back.

Terrain is fine for shorts, but long socks advisable to avoid the odd scratch - it is a wooded park.

We've had a few late requests for maps, so let the organiser know if

  • you reserved a map and can't make it
  • after your run are happy to donate your map to someone else

Terrain Description

Flat Beech and Oak woodland (with Rhododendron). Some lovely open areas, with complex path network and Rhododendron tunnels. Secure boundaries, no road crossings, ideal for juniors.

None. This is a well used public park please come prepared.

For those thirsty after their run, the Thatched Cottage pub is just round the corner.

Neither Southern Navigators, the landowner or British Orienteering can be held liable for any accident or other incident arising while undertaking the event. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event - including clothing appropriate for the conditions, and if required, a means of summoning assistance (e.g. phone or whistle).
After forest orienteering, please check thoroughly for ticks and remove immediately if you find them. Lyme Disease is on the increase in the South East!

Insurance: All participants are covered by the British Orienteering third-party liability insurance policy. (NB: This is not a personal injury policy).
