New Covebrook map
This round of the South England Orienteering Urban League (SEOUL) takes place near Farnborough, Hampshire on an area which is 80% new to competitive orienteering. The Totland estate to the north of the town is high density former local authority housing with many alleys and courtyards, where you can expect complex and rapid route decisions. All courses (except Young Junior) visit this area. The two longest courses also venture west to Pinewood Park with some longer legs through lower density housing. There are open spaces along the Cove Brook and a large playing field area traversed by the longer courses. Course lengths are towards the upper end of urban guidelines. (For an indication of likely running times see results from SN Goldsworth/Horsell event in August 2021 – fast and flat, distances and terrain are comparable).
