Directions / Parking

Car parking at the Hogmoor Inclosure can be used but is likely to get full. Overflow parking is at SU791359 off Budds Lane, approximately 1km away. Walk to Hogmoor is along the footpath at the side of the A325. The main road has to be crossed so adult supervision is advised.

Course Information

  • Yellow (Beginners, controls on or visible from paths, up to 2.5km (1.5miles))
  • Orange (Improvers, controls near paths, start to cut across the forest, up to 3.5km)
  • Light Green (More technical, controls generally not near paths, up to 4.5km)
  • YBT Light Green (Only for YBT competitors) (More technical, controls generally not near paths, up to 4.5km)
  • YBT Green (Only for YBT competitors) (Experienced orienteers, as technical as possible, up to 5.0km)
  • Short Blue (Experienced orienteers, as technical as possible, up to 5.5km)


Entry Details

ENTRIES FOR YBT WILL ONLY BE VIA YOUR CLUB CAPTAIN. YBT light green and the Green course will be exclusive to YBT competitors.

For non-YBT competitors, entry is via https://racesignup.co.uk/ Entry before noon on the Monday before the event will guarantee you a map. After that, map limits will be applied. Online entries will stay open until 4pm the Thursday before the event but will be subject to map availability. If there are any maps left, there may be limited EOD to use up the maps.

Juniors are under 21 on 31st December.

Names of competitors for the YBT heat must be declared ahead of the event so that we can ensure start time rules are applied

Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event - including clothing appropriate for the conditions, and if required, a means of summoning assistance (e.g. phone or whistle).
After forest orienteering, please check thoroughly for ticks and remove immediately if you find them. Lyme Disease is on the increase in the South East!

Insurance: All participants are covered by the British Orienteering third-party liability insurance policy. (NB: This is not a personal injury policy).

Privacy: If you enter an event or activity for which we publish results your name will appear in the results section of this website. In addition we may seek to have the results published elsewhere, e.g. by local newspapers. Read our data protection page to see how we look after your personal data.
