Access to the event is possible from London, with the event centre only 0.5km from the main Aldershot train station. The start/finish are at/close to (fully.sleepy.oddly) with public car park facilites at the "High Street" multistory car park, (ankle.focus.zooms) which costs £1.80 for 3 hours parking.

A large double A3 area covering Aldershot, often referred to as the Home of the British Army. An extensive area offering a mixture of Aldershot Garrison's married quarters, barracks, Army playing fields, contrasting with the town centre that is undergoing rejuvenation

Terrain Description

Aldershot can provide a little bit of everything, some hills for routechoice, a mixture of housing estates, a town centre in the middle of regeneration and some small parks, everything you could want from a UK Urban race

Facilities

You are 250m from the town centre, full of shops, restaurants, pubs and toilets all can be used after the event, and are part of the competition area. We have negotiated with the local Burger King and public library (both within 150m of the start) that runners can use their facilities, please be courteous to other members of the general public using these facilities. You must NOT use the bushes in the park, this area is a public park with a children's play area adjacent.

Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser. Competitors are responsible for their own personal safety and for assessing their own abilities to complete the course. Neither Southern Navigators, the landowner or British Orienteering can be held liable for any accident or other incident arising while undertaking the event. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event - including clothing appropriate for the conditions, and if required, a means of summoning assistance (e.g. phone or whistle).
After forest orienteering, please check thoroughly for ticks and remove immediately if you find them. Lyme Disease is on the increase in the South East!

Insurance: All participants are covered by the British Orienteering third-party liability insurance policy. (NB: This is not a personal injury policy).
