Type of event: Race, Coaching, Juniors, Schools
These events are ideally suited to beginners, juniors and family groups who want to try orienteering or move up from school to forest orienteering.
Club members (wearing yellow high visibility jackets) are there to help. Just turn up on the day between 9.30 and 11.00 dressed to run or walk.
You don’t need any special equipment. Go to registration to pay for your map and electronic timing “dibber” hire and the helpers will suggest a suitable course. Most families start with a “Yellow” level course which is about 2.5km long and will take around 30-45 minutes. If you would like any help or advice, ask at registration. You can start your course anytime up until 11.30 and when you finish you should come back to the registration area to “download” your times and get your results. Downloading provides a safety check confirming that all participants have returned, so it is important that you visit the “download” before you leave the event
There are not normally toilets.
